AECOM's Design + Planning practice offers a holistic approach to guide responsible and productive use of the land. Our practice includes design, master planning, environmental and ecological planning, strategic planning and economic development. We integrate these areas of expertise on projects of all scales and contexts. Some of our clients are private developers creating communities or world-class destinations. Others are national and local governments seeking to manage their natural and cultural resources. RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develops landscape design plans in response to technical problems posed by a project’s scope. Develops innovative solutions to problems.
· Serves as a technical design expert to the project, but generally works through staff to develop and execute design
· Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard landscape architecture techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making adaptations and modifications on projects.
· Plays a key role in projects, as a lead, project manager, or critical designer.
· Manages a small team of junior designers.
· Leads projects that are medium to large in size: responsible for financial management of the project, ensuring key deadlines are met and that the project stays on schedule, and staff are working together effectively.
· Manages the presentation and report development for clients.
· Plays a key role in client management and client satisfaction.
REQUIREMENTS:
· 10-12 years’ post-graduate international experience as a Landscape Architect with at least 2 years working on large-scale public projects in China / Asia.
· Bachelors in Landscape Architecture or closely related field required; Masters degree in Landscape Architecture preferred.
· Ability to conceive, design and communicate masterplans and cityscapes from a blank canvas
· Flair for design and strong graphic and illustrative capability
· Promising portfolio of built work which demonstrates technical capabilities.
· Experience working on medium to large-sized international projects as a Project Director / Lead Designer.
· Ability to lead and manage a team of junior to mid level designers.
· Excellent design, visualization, and graphic skills.
· Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite software packages.
· Proficiency in MS Office Suite as well as overall strong computer proficiency.
· Excellent coordination skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong conceptual ability highly regarded.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills essential.
· Good English communication skills essential. Fluency in Mandarin an advantage.
